This is for people who already know the basics of sound design and want to specialize in game audio. We spend most of the time inside FMOD Studio and Wwise, building systems that actually ship in games.
Real Problems We Solve
How do you keep memory usage under 50MB for mobile while still having rich audio? What's the right way to handle footsteps on 12 different surface types without creating 500 files? How do you make music that transitions smoothly when combat starts?
Each module involves reverse-engineering audio from shipped games, then rebuilding similar systems yourself. You'll profile your work, optimize for different platforms, and learn to communicate with programmers about audio implementation.
The final project requires implementing a complete audio system for a provided game build, including mixing, bug fixing, and writing technical documentation. Expect to spend 8-12 hours per week on coursework.
